The Competec Group (1300 employees, annual turnover for 2023: 1.14 billion Swiss francs) is appointing Dr Stefan Fraude as its CEO. “In Stefan Fraude, we are absolutely delighted to have acquired a leader with a proven track record for the role of CEO. He is an excellent fit for the Competec Group in terms of his personality and expertise and has many years of industry experience as well as in-depth knowledge of the markets in which we operate,” says Roland Brack, owner and chairman of the board. Stefan Fraude’s key areas of focus are digitalisation, process optimisation, automation and logistics optimisation – topics that are also gaining in importance at Competec, according to Brack. His most recent role was as CEO of MediaMarkt Switzerland. Prior to this, he spent seven years at Digitec Galaxus, where his roles included establishing and managing the marketplace, followed by a stint heading up international category management. Since 2016, he has also been the co-founder and president of the board of B2B learning platform MaxBrain. He has a PhD in leadership and high-performance teams as well as a master’s degree in business administration and marketing management from the University of St. Gallen. The 42-year-old is taking over from Martin Lorenz, who has led the trading group since 2018. At the time of publication, the exact date on which he will take up his post has not been set..
